Aguata Women Summit 2025: Patience Ozokwo Champions Women's Leadership

..... Tasks Women to submit to their husbands, while taking care of their familiesRenowned Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwo, was a keynote speaker at the Aguata Women Summit 2025, held today the 7th of March 2025 at the Aguata LGA Secretariat in Anambra state, South Nigeria, where she passionately padvocated for women's empowerment and representation in leadership positions.Ozokwo emphasized the importance of women's participation in decision-making processes, citing their unique perspectives and strengths. She encouraged women to take on leadership roles and challenge the status quo, promoting a culture of equality and inclusivity. She said " until Nigeria have women at helm of affairs in the country things may not go the  way it's expected to be. A woman embodies the essence of creating, as both men and women are formed in a woman, and as such any person that knows the process of creating can't for any reason want to destroy." The summit, attended by women from various walks of life, aimed to inspire and empower women to become agents of change in their communities. Ozokwo's message resonated deeply with the audience, who were inspired by her conviction and passion, with shouts of Mama G renting the air, which is her signature name of stage in one of her movies. However, the key takeaways from Patience Ozokwo's address include, women empowerment which she stressed it's important for women to take control of their lives and destinies. On leadership, she advocated that it should not be limited to men alone, as  women have the capacity and potential to lead and make a positive impact in the society as well, while not negating the fact that men still remain the head of the family. She however challenged the status quo, and encouraged women to question and challenge societal norms that perpetuate inequality. She therefore tasked women to support and uplift one another, because when work together, they create a supportive network that fosters growth and empowerment. The Aguata Women Summit 2025 was a resounding success, with Patience Ozokwo's address serving as a powerful call to action for women's empowerment and leadership.  In delivering his keynote address at the event, Dr. Chibueze Oforbuike, the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, stressed that the Aguata Women's Summit, the first of it's kind in the LGA was aimed at celebrating the vital role women play in society. He praised women as "a beacon of hope to humanity," acknowledging their tireless efforts to uplift their communities. Oforbuike also expressed gratitude to Governor Prof. Charles Soludo's administration for prioritizing women's and girls' rights, giving a significant boost to women's affairs in the state. He commended the governor's wife, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, for her health advocacy, which has empowered women to make informed decisions about theirp health, particularly regarding food and exercise. The mayor also thanked royal fathers from various communities, including Igboukwu, Umuona, Uga, and Aguluezechukwu, for their support. In the same vein the Commissioner for women affairs and social welfare in the state, Hon. Mrs. Mrs. Ify Obinabo, while interacting with other women, made a powerful statement at the Aguata Women's Summit today, emphasizing the need for women to respect their husbands and for men to reciprocate that respect, as it's a two-way thing. She also commended Governor Prof. Charles Soludo for his efforts in discouraging the youth of Anambra from engaging in get-rich-quick schemes, instead of promoting the value of hard work and diligence, which is deeply rooted in Igbo tradition. The Commissioner's message is particularly significant in today's society, where the importance of mutual respect and hard work cannot be overstated. By promoting these values, Governor Soludo's administration is helping to build a stronger, more resilient community in Anambra. The Aguata Women's Summit, held on March 7, 2025, served as a precursor to International Women's Day, celebrated globally on March 8.This event highlights the commitment of local leaders and stakeholders to promoting women's empowerment and recognizing their vital contributions to society.
