The Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, has reaffirmed the Institutions dedication to strengthening its global reputation and fostering relationships with relevant local and international organizations.Prof. Ige made this known while opening a four-day Employability Training and Information Session on work, study, and vocational training opportunities in Germany. The event, which commenced on Monday, February 3, 2025, was organised by the Teaching and Leadership Centre (TLC) of AAUA in collaboration with the Nigerian-German Centre for Migration and Development (NGC).The Vice Chancellor emphasised the Universitys ongoing efforts to enhance its global visibility. He stated, As a university, we are conscious of our global recognition and acceptability. That is why we continually take deliberate actions to improve and sustain our standing while fostering mutually beneficial relationships with relevant stakeholders.Prof. Ige thanked the NGC for choosing AAUA for the training and commended the TLC for facilitating the initiative.In his welcome address, the Director of the Teaching and Leadership Centre, Prof. Busuyi Mekusi, noted the programme aimed to enhance human capacity, build networks, and equip staff and students with the right knowledge to prevent them from falling victim to migration-related challenges. He also acknowledged the Vice Chancellors untiring support for the Centres initiatives.The opening day of the training was attended by Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and Units, while the subsequent three days accommodated 1,200 final-year students from various faculties.The training facilitators included Barr. Maureen Ovie (Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment); Dr. Austin Ezejiofor and Mr. Ayomikun Olugbode (GIZ Centres for Migration and Development); Miss Veronica Adeloye and Miss Eniola Lasisi (Goethe Institute)
