Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, has appointed Mr. Olugbenga Michael Oloye as the new Acting Registrar, with a firm commitment to revitalizing the institution’s registry and strengthening its administrative framework.Speaking during his inaugural meeting with senior administrative officers and key executives on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Academic Board Chamber, Mr. Oloye emphasized the need for unity and collective effort in driving the institution forward. He urged the registry staff to lead by example, uphold ethical standards, and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.He stressed the importance of teamwork in restoring the registry’s reputation, noting that the institution’s success depends on the dedication and cooperation of its staff."We must adhere to the principles in our staff manual, avoid unethical practices, and commit to doing what is right," he stated, warning that any deviation from established guidelines could hinder institutional progress.Additionally, Mr. Oloye assured staff members of his commitment to their welfare, professionalism, and continuous training for improved efficiency. He encouraged their full support as he works toward making Rufus Giwa Polytechnic a model institution and an enviable workplace.In his remarks, Comrade Saka-Olokungboye Nurudeen, Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics (SSANIP), commended the Acting Registrar for convening the meeting—an event that had not taken place since 2013. He lauded Mr. Oloye’s vision for restructuring the registry and pledged the association’s support in ensuring a more effective administrative system.The meeting was attended by key officials, including Mr. Akinsanmi Ayodeji, Director of Academic Affairs; Mr. Gbenga Ademiluyi, Administrative Assistant to the Rector; Mr. Bayo Elebute, Director of Student Affairs; Mr. Omololu Ogunmola, Director of Senior Staff Personnel; Mr. Dotun Arijeniwa, Director of Academic Board; and several other senior registry staff.Mr. Oloye, a seasoned administrator, steps into the role following the retirement of the former Acting Registrar, with a mission to strengthen the institution’s administrative operations and uphold its legacy of excellence.
