BREAKING: APC expels Aregbesola over alleged anti-party activities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expelled former Minister of Interior and ex-Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, over allegations of anti-party activities.Aregbesola, who governed Osun State for two terms, was the leader of The Osun Progressives faction within the APC, which later rebranded as the Omoluabi Caucus. His expulsion was confirmed in a letter from the APC leadership, which was made public on Wednesday.The letter, titled “Allegations of Anti-Party Activities – Conveyance of State Exco Decision,” stated that Aregbesola had violated Article 21 of the party’s constitution, which outlines disciplinary measures for members found guilty of actions detrimental to the party.According to the letter, *“Following an investigation, the State Executive Committee (SEC) carefully reviewed the findings of the Disciplinary Committee. Based on the evidence presented, the SEC has decided to approve your immediate expulsion from the APC.“This decision stems from your actions, which have weakened the party’s unity and integrity. As a result, you are no longer a member of the APC and must refrain from presenting yourself as one or acting on behalf of the party in any capacity.”*Aregbesola’s expulsion comes just days after he presided over a meeting of the Omoluabi Caucus on Sunday, during which the group announced its decision to exit the APC, citing concerns over the party’s diminishing influence in Osun State.
