The Delta State Police Command has recorded major breakthroughs in its renewed offensive against crime, with the arrest of suspected armed robbers, cultists, and drug peddlers in separate sting operations across the state. The operations led to the recovery of an English pistol loaded with two rounds of live ammunition and a large quantity of illicit drugs. On September 17, 2025, operatives of the Ogwashi-Uku Division, led by Divisional Police Officer (DPO) CSP Israel Okomoyon, in collaboration with local vigilantes, intercepted three young men riding a motorcycle during a routine patrol. The suspects — Emmanuel Ibekwe (25), Victor Chibuzor (25), and Zakaria Joro (25) — all residents of Ogwashi-Uku, were subjected to a search. Police recovered an English-made pistol loaded with two rounds of live ammunition from themAccording to police sources, the trio could not provide a satisfactory explanation for being in possession of the firearm. They were immediately taken into custody, and the case has been transferred to the State Anti-Kidnapping Squad (SAKS) for further investigation. In a separate operation on September 13, 2025, operatives of the Delta State Eagle Net Special Squad, led by Commander SP Danyaya Yunusa, working with the Nigeria Hunters Forest Security Service (NHFSS), stormed a hotel along the Asaba/Benin Expressway, Agbor, following credible intelligence on drug-related activities. The raid resulted in the arrest of 10 adult suspects, including the hotel owner, Markwuye Peter, of Ifeanchukwu Street, Agbor.
