Yoruba Nation advocate, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has voiced concerns over the declining sense of national pride among Nigerians. Speaking in a video posted online on Thursday, Igboho, seen at an airport in the United Kingdom, attributed the growing apathy towards Nigeria to corruption, insecurity, and the worsening economic conditions in the country. The separatist leader emphasized that if Nigeria is unable to function as a united entity, ethnic groups should be free to go their separate ways. He called for an end to the current state of affairs, urging that the different nationalities within Nigeria should be allowed self-determination.Igboho further expressed optimism about the potential for Yoruba youths, who have acquired global experience and expertise, to build a prosperous and modern Yoruba Nation akin to European societies. He remarked, "At the airport, there is no security. Your belongings can be stolen right from your bag in Nigerian airports. Such experiences make it hard for people to be proud of Nigeria. This is why we are calling for separation. If Nigeria cannot work as one, it is better we part ways."He continued, "The youths of the Yoruba nation, who have traveled the world and gained valuable knowledge, will come back and use their skills to transform our land. With this knowledge, we can build a society as successful as those in Europe."
