Ondo State police have arrested Lukman Isiaka and Abosede Olanipekun for allegedly kidnapping an 18-month-old baby boy from his mother and selling him.Isiaka, who had shown interest in dating the victim’s mother, lured her to a plaza under the pretext of buying her a phone. Upon arriving at the plaza, he disappeared, leaving her alone. Meanwhile, Olanipekun, whom Isiaka falsely introduced as his sister, took the baby away, claiming she was going to buy him biscuits. When the mother returned, she discovered her child was missing.The police described the incident as follows: “Lukman Isiaka and Abosede Olanipekun stole an 18-month-old boy after Isiaka lured the mother with the intention of dating her. He introduced Olanipekun as his sister, and she left with the baby, claiming she would buy him biscuits. Meanwhile, Isiaka took the mother to a plaza, where he abandoned her. When she returned to the plaza, she found her child was gone.”After the incident was reported, the suspects were traced and apprehended in Edo State, where they confessed to selling the child to one Mrs. Sabina Izuorah in Anambra State. The police swiftly moved to Anambra and arrested Izuorah, who was found with 14 children, including four infants.Police officials said: “Following intelligence-led efforts, the suspects were arrested in Ottah village, Edo State. They admitted to selling the child to Sabina Izuorah in Ihiala, Anambra State. Our team then arrested Izuorah, who was found with four babies and ten children aged between 2 and 6 years.”Some parents have already identified their missing children, while others are still searching. Authorities continue working to reunite the stolen children with their families.
