Police Community Relations Committee Celebrates IGP Egbetokun's One-Year Milestone

 The Police Community Relations Committee,  PCRC has extended congratulations to the 22nd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun on his first anniversary celebration as Inspector-General of Police. In a statement, the National Chairman of the PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim-Olaniyan said that IGP Egbetokun leadership has been characterised by Zero tolerance for corruption and bribery, Capacity building and encouragement given to police officers to excel in the Nigeria Police Force. “With IGP Egbetokun leading the way, there is hope for a future of professional Police Officers  in the Force, having given police sessions and units independent to operate on a professional level,  freed of manipulation and corruption. IGP in the past year success is founded on teamwork, integrity, and a shared vision for a safer community. Alhaji Olaniyan also commended officers for their dedication and hard work, demonstrated by their exemplary performance across various duty stations. He lauded the IGP remaining resilient and steadfast in his mandate. The PCRC National Chairman also congratulated the IGP Egbetokun efforts to grow capacity, improve services, and strengthen relationships with sister services and the public which yielded positive results in fight against crime nationwide."Significant achievement is the recent inaugural Police Commendation and Awards Ceremony on April 16, 2024, recognized and rewarded exceptional service, bravery, and dedication to motivating officers which is vital for optimal performance. This initiative promotes excellence and community policing, celebrating  personnel's tireless efforts under challenging circumstances. "I also want to acknowledged the proactiveness of the IGP Egbetokun for presenting cheques totalling ₦9.85 billion to families of deceased officers under the Group Life Assurance Scheme and the IGP Family Welfare Scheme. The declaration of April 7 as National Police Day and various other welfare programs."PCRC National Chairman lauded the IGP Egbetokun's leadership for the advanced infrastructural development. He commended the IGP for commissioning the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, the International Conference Centre located within the same premises with the Police Resource Centre, the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC), the Force Intelligence Building, the Force Public Relations School, the Police Intelligence School located in Share, Kwara State and Evidence/Exhibits Storage facilities. "We shall also be commissioning newly acquired operational assets including vehicles, APCs, Drones, Gun trucks etc. These projects and operational assets, aim to improve NPF service delivery. The PCRC National Chairman, Alhaji Olaniyan also thanked IGP Egbetokun for upgrading of PR Department, and supporting the PCRC, home and abroad to carry out its responsibilities.
