To enhance the health and well-being of local populations affected by ongoing operations, Sector 1 of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Cameroon has embarked on a 7-day free medical outreach programme as part of Operation Lake Sanity 2.The Chief Military Public Information Officer, HQ MNJTF, N’djamena -Chad, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi Abubakar in a statement issued, Thursday, said the outreach, which commenced on June 26, 2024, targets residents in Darak, Kofia, Hile Alifa, and Soueram in the extreme North of Cameroon. He said, the programme provides free medical consultations and distributes essential drugs to those in need, ensuring that vulnerable communities receive vital healthcare services. The initiative has been met with an overwhelming response from the locals, who have seized the opportunity to consult with medical professionals about various health issues and receive necessary treatments and medications at no cost.By addressing the immediate healthcare needs of these communities, the MNJTF aims to build trust and cooperation between the military and local populations, ultimately contributing to regional stabilization. The medical outreach is a testament to our commitment to restoring peace and normalcy in the region while securing the wellbeing of its inhabitants, Enugu Reporters gathered. The MNJTF’s civil-military cooperation activities, such as this outreach programme, demonstrate the organization’s dedication to alleviating the healthcare burden on communities with limited access to medical facilities and frequent disruptions due to instability.By integrating civil-military cooperation with military operations, Operation Lake Sanity 2 is paving the way for a more stable and secure region, where vulnerable communities can thrive. www.twitter.com/spyetv
