Building Bridges: Army Intelligence Students Engage with NIMASA to Enhance Security Ties

In a bid to enhance their academic and professional development, students from the Nigerian Army Intelligence School (NAIS) embarked on a local study tour to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). The visit was to familiarize the students with the roles and responsibilities of NIMASA in addressing contemporary security challenges in the country, particularly focusing on the Deep Blue project and other security imperatives.The students Led by the Ag Commandant  NAIS, Brigadier General Kingsley Nwoko, who comprise of , Young Officers, Counter Intelligence Officers, and SNCOs, eagerly participated in the educational tour. Upon arrival, they were warmly received by Mr Heakey Dimowo, Director of Marine and Environmental Management at NIMASA, who provided valuable insights into the agency's statutory responsibilities and its contributions to maritime safety.The students also  engaged in a series of informative lectures, covering topics such as NIMASA's responsibilities, maritime safety protocols, and an overview of the C4I Centre of the Deep Blue Project. These sessions not only broadened the students' understanding of intelligence capacity but also highlighted potential areas of collaboration between NIMASA and the Nigerian Army in addressing security challenges.Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to host the students, Mr Heakey Dimowo emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship between NIMASA and the Nigerian Army. He commended the Comdt NAIS for organizing the study visit, recognizing the mutual benefits of collaboration between the two entities.In his remarks, the Comdt underscored the academic significance of the tour, aligning it with the Chief of Army Staff's vision of transforming the Nigerian Army into a highly skilled and motivated force. The event concluded with a tour of NIMASA's facilities, the exchange of souvenirs, and group photographs, symbolizing the strengthened partnership between the two organizations.Overall, the study tour proved to be a valuable learning experience for the NAIS students, equipping them with practical knowledge and insights that will undoubtedly contribute to their future roles in safeguarding national security. The event served as a testament to the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in addressing complex security challenges, setting a positive precedent for future engagements between the Nigerian Army and key stakeholders in the security sector.www.twitter.com/spyetv
