Former international Sam Sodje has said Finidi George is not good enough to lead the Super Eagles. Finidi has endured a poor start to his reign following the Super Eagles poor performance in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic. The West Africans held Bafana Bafana to a 1-1 draw and lost 2-1 away to the Cheetahs. They now languish in fifth position on the Group C table with three points from four games.
