"This is Like Magic"- Victims Parents, VCs, Benue Governor Praise Police Heroic Feat and 'Miraculous' Rescue of 27 Hostages Without Ransom

Celebrations after successful operation conducted by the Nigeria Police Force, which resulted in the rescue of 27 innocent citizens on 22nd August, 2024, who had been abducted and held in captive by a dangerous criminal gang in Benue State, have brought a new hope for those at yet to be identified kidnappers dens across the country. At the handover ceremony today, Sunday, 25th August 2024, Vice Chancellor of University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, the Vice Chancellor University of Jos, VC Prof Tanko Ishaya, Representative of Benue State Governor, and Rep of the Nigeria Medical Association in their goodwill messages respectively praised the Nigeria Police Force led IGP Olukayode Egbetokun for successfully rescuing these 27 individuals without the payment of any ransom.In their words, VC UNIMAID, Prof Mohammed Laminu Mele said, "we were very so sadden when you got the news about the kidnap, we were so sad and kept in touch with the security agencies and we are really happy that we have a police force that is capable of performing this miracle because most people were pessimistic at the beginning." We will like to first of all thank President Bola Tinubu and the Inspector General of Police, IGP Egbetokun, other security agencies for their efforts. We do not pray for this to happen again but we are confident that we have a police Force capable of protecting the lives of Nigerians."Professor Tanko Ishaya, the VC UNIJOS in his good will message unbehalf of the Governing Council of the University of Jos, the Senate ans the entire university of Jos community conveyed their unproferred gratitude to President Bola Tinubu who directed that the students who were kidnapped must be rescued and of course the directive was taken serious by the Inspector-General of Police, the NSA, Governor of Benue State, security agencies that have worked tirednessly that today we can smile." Today we are having our student back ans out gratitude goes to all the efforts that these security agencies put in. Indeed, this successful operation, I believe is a demonstration to Nigeria that,  indeed we have security agencies that are determined and to provide safe environment for this country. "He said, majority of them were not sure what was going to happen when the kidnap occurred but he seized the opportunity to commend the IGP Egbetokun and his men who.worked under very difficult circumstances and very difficult terrain to be able to rescue the 20 students.Professor Ishaya also thabked all Nigerians for praying for police operatives while they were at the bush. He revealed that Nigerians prayed for Police who went on the rescue mission to return with the students safe a s sound. He also commended the patience of the parents. He said the school authority communicated with parents since the kidnapped started, though it wasn't easily convincing them that the security agencies are at work to rescue their children and  they will bring them back unhurt. Prof Ishaya assured the IGP Egbetokun that, he knows the children have gone through trauma, psychological and physical trauma, therefore the school has already arrange a camp for them for rehabilitation before reintegration them back to the Society. A representative of the parents, Hon. Pharmacist John Engay thanked the IGP Egbetokun and his men for rescuing their children unhurt. They confessed that even they were desperate they have anxieties the VCs, the Commissioner of Police Benue State through the Public Relations encouraged us to be calm."We were afraid. Some us have the money to pay for ransom. We became desperate but we were surprised that our children were rescued by your men unhurt. We are very grateful to the President, to the National Special Adviser NSA, to the IGP, to all Police officers and the gentlemen of the press.The Second Vice-President , Nigerian Medical Association, Dr Usha Anenga represented by Dr Simon Ogenyi thanked the government and security agencies for their efforts, especially the National Security Adviser, the Inspector-General of police and DG DSS. "In the same vein, we appreciate the Benue State Governor and the security agencies in the state. As an association, we are concerned about the security of health personnel across the country. We still have doctors in captivity, most notably Dr Ganiyat, who was abducted 8 months ago in Kaduna State. Hence, we urge the government to double its efforts in this regard.He noted that the Nigerian Medical Association is excited by the news of the release of the 19 kidnapped students and doctors. "We pray that this sad occurrence doesn't happen again as we wish our students a speedy recovery from the physically and emotionally traumatizing situation of being in captivity for 8 days."SpyeTV News reports that 27 innocent citizens on 22nd August, 2024, who had been abducted by a dangerous criminal gang in Benue State were successfully rescued by the men of the Nigeria Police Force.Contrary to some tweets and unconfirmed stories that some money was paid, no kobo was paid to release them. They were actually rescued tactically and professionally. We commend the security agencies, locals, and ONSA for their commitment and resilience. Thanks to you all,” Adejobi explained.Among those rescued were 20 medical students of the University of Jos Teaching Hospital comprising 16 males and 4 females, who were cruelly taken abducted while in transit to a Conference in Enugu on 15th August, 2024 ; five other passengers and two other victims who had also fallen victim to these heinous criminals were also freed.www.twitter.com/spyetv
