DID YOU KNOW: CNS SPIKERS Has Competed in All Tiers of Nigerian Professional Volleyball?

Did you know that since 2021, the Nigerian Navy Professional Volleyball Team aka CNS SPIKERS has competed in all tiers of Nigerian Professional Volleyball? The Team had its first major Championship organised by the Nigerian Volleyball Federation (NVBF) in Kontagora in March 2021, where the CNS SPIKERS emerged Champions in the Male category while the Female team came second. The CNS SPIKERS  also won the 2022 National Divisions I & II Volleyball leagues in both the female and male categories despite participating in the championships for the very first time. The team gained promotion to the National Volleyball Premier league for  the Female category and National Division I for the Male category respectively in 2023. Suffice to state here that the Male team topped both First and Second Phases of the National Division 1 league that was played in Owerri, Imo State in June 2023 and in Kaduna in October 2023. The Male team was unbeaten in all the matches played and were crowned champions in Kaduna in October 2023. Consequently, the Team gained promotion to play in the Premier league in 2024. The Female team also topped the First and Second Phases of the Premier league played in Abuja in July 2023 & November 2023 and were crowned champions of the National Volleyball Premier League 2023. It is also pertinent to mention that the Male team won 5 individual awards including the MVP and the Female team won 3 Individual Awards including the MVP in their respective leagues. The excellent performances of the CNS SPIKERS earned firstly, the female team’s participation as Nigeria’s Representative at the 2022, African Club Championship in Kelibia, Tunisia where the team defeated some highly rated teams from Ethiopia, Rwanda and Cote d’ Ivoire despite participating for the first time. The CNS Spikers Male and Female teams were again, nominated based on excellent performances to represent Nigeria at the African Club Volleyball Championship at Hammamet and Kelibia in Tunisia in 2023 respectively. The CNS SPIKERS Male team have not lost any competitive match for the past 2 years. The team gained promotion from Division 2, through to Division 1 and they are now in the Premier League without losing a single match. The Female team on the other hand is the Defending Champions of the Female Premier League for Year 2023. The Year 2024 Premier League is expected to come to a close on 10 September 2024 and we are excitedly looking forward to both the Male and Female Teams of CNS SPIKERS topping the Nigerian Premier VolleyBall League. The current chairman of the CNS Spikers VolleyBall Team is Rear Admiral Mohammed Adamu Muye.-NigerianNavywww.twitter.com/spyetv
