Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Idanre Local Government Area, Ondo State, have dismissed reports of the purported suspension of the party’s state chairman, Engineer Ade Adetimehin, as false and baseless. In a statement issued on December 14, 2024, the leaders described the suspension letter making rounds as a fabrication by mischief makers seeking to destabilize the party. They claimed the letter was orchestrated by impostors with forged signatures, accusing them of working against the unity and progress of the APC.“We want to categorically state that Engineer Ade Adetimehin remains the legitimate and duly elected Chairman of the Ondo State APC,” the statement read. “His leadership has been characterized by commitment, loyalty, and dedication to the progress of our great party. This baseless and malicious attempt to remove him is a sad reflection of the antics of a few individuals bent on sowing discord for personal gain.”The APC leaders also questioned the timing of the alleged suspension, noting that it coincides with the tail end of Adetimehin’s tenure. They argued that introducing such conflict at this critical time risks undermining the party’s stability and called for unity ahead of upcoming transitions within the party. The group urged the Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to intervene and address the situation swiftly. “The leadership of the APC in Ondo State cannot afford distractions from such senseless schemes. We urge the Governor to hold those behind this plot accountable and ensure the peace and unity of the APC are preserved,” the statement continued.Reaffirming their support for Adetimehin, the leaders vowed to resist any actions aimed at derailing the party’s progress. “We stand firmly with Engineer Ade Adetimehin as the Chairman of the Ondo State APC, and we remain committed to the success of our party,” they concluded. The statement was signed by key APC Leaders of Thought in Idanre Local Government Area.
