NELFUND Upkeep Allowance Clarified as N20,000

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, has clarified the monthly upkeep allowance for student beneficiaries. In a notice issued in Abuja on Monday, 30 March 2026, the Fund said the approved upkeep allowance remains N20,000 per month, not N25,000 as reported in some quarters. NELFUND states the approved amount NELFUND said reports claiming that students now receive N25,000 as monthly upkeep are incorrect. For clarity, the Fund fixed the approved student upkeep allowance at N20,000, which it also described as twenty thousand naira monthly.
