Supare boils with jubilation as PDP members defect to APC

Supare-Akoko in Ondo State came alive at the weekend as members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in a grand reception that drew party leaders and supporters across Akoko land.The event, which was attended by top APC figures, was described as a “moment of renewed hope and unity” for the party.Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Rt. Hon. Victor Adekanye Olabimtan, led the reception of the new members, commending their decision to join what he called “a progressive family committed to service, development, and the welfare of the people.”He noted that the APC remains the most credible platform for the actualisation of good governance and economic growth in the state. “This gathering signifies more than just a merger; it represents a homecoming for those seeking to serve the party with unity, integrity, and purpose,” Olabimtan said. “Together, we will build a brighter future for our great party, the APC, where every citizen can thrive and reach their full potential.”Olabimtan described the APC as more than a political organisation, saying it is a movement driven by a shared vision for a better Nigeria. “We are not just a party; we are a movement—a movement driven by a shared vision of a better Nigeria, where every citizen can live with dignity and purpose,” he declared.The new members pledged their loyalty to the APC and vowed to work tirelessly to strengthen the party’s presence in Supare-Akoko and beyond.Other dignitaries at the ceremony included the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr. Jaiyeola Alabi; former Chairman of Akoko South West Local Government, Hon.
