Ondo civil servants receive annual leave bonus

Ondo State workers have started receiving their 2025 leave bonus following clearance from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who also approved arrears of pension and hazard allowances for health workers in the state. The approval followed a crucial meeting between top government officials and the state leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), led by Comrades Ademola Olapade and Segun Ajiboye, respectively. This medium understands that some workers have begun receiving alerts confirming their leave bonus payments. However, several recipients raised concerns over discrepancies in the payments, with some reporting shortfalls while others received more than expected. Officials attributed the issues to technical glitches in the payment platform. The timely release of the bonuses comes amid earlier threats by the NLC and JNC to initiate industrial action over delays in workers’ allowances.Sources said the looming strike prompted the government to expedite payments to avoid disruption of public service operations.Government officials have urged affected workers to report payment discrepancies to their respective offices for prompt correction. The release of the bonuses is seen as part of ongoing efforts by the Aiyedatiwa administration to maintain cordial relations with state workers and ensure prompt payment of entitlements.
