JUST IN: El-Rufai officially joins ADC, criticizes APC

Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), months after announcing his exit from the All Progressives Congress (APC).El-Rufai completed his registration at the ADC office in U/Sarki Ward, Kaduna, where he was presented with his membership card. He was accompanied by a large contingent of loyalists, including former appointees and local government chairmen who have stood with him since his departure from the ruling party.His move comes after his March 10 resignation from the APC, in which he cited a growing disconnect between his values and the direction of the party. In the letter, the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory accused the APC leadership of straying from the progressive ideals that informed its founding.According to him, he had repeatedly warned the party leadership—both publicly and behind closed doors—about what he described as a troubling drift, but his concerns were ignored.El-Rufai, a key figure in the 2013 opposition merger that birthed the APC, later lamented that the party had lost its founding vision.More details shortly…
