Ondo: Gunmen Storm Palace, Hack Monarch to Death

There was tension in Agamo community, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, following the gruesome killing of the Alagamo of Agamo, Oba Kehinde Falodun, by suspected gunmen. The attackers, said to be more than ten in number, reportedly stormed the monarch’s palace on Wednesday evening in what was believed to be a planned abduction.However, sources disclosed that the traditional ruler resisted the attempted kidnapping. A family source revealed that the assailants initially opened fire on the monarch. Surprisingly, the bullets were said not to have penetrated his body. Unable to succeed with the gunshots, the attackers allegedly resorted to another weapon, striking the monarch on the head. The severe blow reportedly led to his death. The monarch’s wife, who confirmed the tragic incident, stated that the attackers were speaking Hausa and reportedly approached the community through the Itaogbolu axis.
