The Commander Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Peter Malla, has charged members of the Examination Panel for the 2026 Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion Examination (LCPPE) to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and objectivity in the discharge of their duties. Major General Malla gave the charge on Sunday, 1 February 2026, while flagging off activities marking the commencement of the Year 2026 LCPPE at Alamala Barracks, Abeokuta, Ogun State. In a statement signed by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, TRADOC NA, Lieutenant Colonel Felicia Daniel, the Commander welcomed members of the Examination Panel and other key stakeholders, stressing that the credibility and success of the examination largely depend on their conduct. He cautioned panel members against any action capable of undermining the sanctity of the exercise. The TRADOC NA Commander further emphasised the need for examination requirements to reflect prevailing security challenges faced by Nigerian Army troops on the frontline. He also urged strict adherence to the Nigerian Army Charter for Promotion Examinations (Revised 2022), particularly in the areas of examination setting, conduct, assessment and security.Major General Malla expressed profound appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for his unwavering and morale-boosting support towards the successful conduct of the examination, noting that the support was instrumental to the timely commencement of the exercise and the assembly of personnel in Abeokuta. Earlier in his opening remarks, the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Goodwin Nwamba, speaking on behalf of the General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Babalola, welcomed the Examination President, teams from Army Headquarters Department of Army Training, TRADOC NA, observers and members of the Examination Panel to 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala Barracks.He highlighted the strategic importance of the LCPPE and encouraged panel members to develop practical, innovative and problem-solving examination questions that align with contemporary operational realities. He also assured participants of adequate security and administrative arrangements put in place by 35 Artillery Brigade to ensure a conducive environment for the exercise. Activities scheduled for the 2026 LCPPE include the setting and harmonisation of examination requirements and directing staff solutions, the conduct of the practical examinations, and the assessment of candidates.
