Apple Will Integrate Modems Into Processor Chips By 2028

Last week, the iPhone 16e was launched with the first to be equipped with Apple's own C1 modem. This is the second attempt to use a non-Qualcomm chip in their product. But unlike the Snapdragon chip, the modem is not integrated into the A18 processor chip used by the device.Now, according to a Bloomberg report, Apple's modems will only be integrated into Apple's chips by 2028. This is because the performance of the C1 is still not as good as the Snapdragon modem. The most notable example is that the iPhone 16e does not support 5G mmWave networks. According to Bloomberg, C2 and C3 may also not be integrated into the processor chip. Only after satisfactory performance is achieved will they be packaged together into Apple's A and Apple M series processor chips.The integration of all modems into the SOC will reduce power consumption leading to better battery life. The iPhone 16e is marketed as a 6.1″ device with the best battery life Apple has ever offered.
