Over RM300,000 lost in umrah business package scam

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 31 people have come forward, claiming to have fallen victim to a scam by a man holding the ‘Datuk’ title, who allegedly offered business packages and sponsorships for performing umrah. The total losses are estimated to exceed RM300,000 since 2023.
