Samsung Confirms It's Developing Smart Glasses With Google

During its Unpacked event for the Galaxy S25 series this morning, Samsung hinted that it's developing a pair of smart glasses and a tri-folding screen device. Bloomberg this morning reported that Samsung TM President MX Roh confirmed that Samsung is developing a pair of smart glasses in collaboration with Google. The information provided was only a small part of it, with Roh not saying when it will be marketed to the public. What is confirmed is that it will run the Android XR operating system. This is the operating system also used in the previously announced XR Project Moohan headset. After seeing what Meta and Ray-Ban have done, our prediction is that the Galaxy glasses will be equipped with a camera that allows it to understand what it's looking at, aided by Google's Project Astra multimodal artificial intelligence (AI) understanding capabilities. Samsung has never offered smart glasses like its rivals Oppo and Huawei. But with Google's expertise, we may finally be able to see a new generation of Google Glass.
