AMD has finally launched their latest series of processor chips, namely AMD Ryzen Z2 for the latest PC consoles that will enter the market soon. As expected, AMD has introduced three models of this CPU series, including AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme, AMD Ryzen Z2 and AMD Ryzen Z2 Go.Starting with the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor chip, it comes with an offer of eight physical cores with 16 power threads, and is said to be the only CPU model in this series that uses a combination of ZEN 5 and Zen 5c cores. It also comes with 16 CU cores for graphics processing and uses the RDNA 3.5 graphics core which is also used in another AMD APU, their Strix Halo processor chip.As for the AMD Ryzen Z2 processor chip, it comes with the same number of cores and threads as the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme, but uses the same ZEN 4 cores used in the AMD Ryzen Z1 processor chip series. The difference here is that the Ryzen Z2 chip comes with 2 additional cores and four power threads compared to the previous model.Perhaps the most interesting is the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor. This processor comes with four cores with eight power threads and, like the previous chip, comes with 12 CU cores for its graphics section.Another interesting detail about this processor is that only the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme comes with a total power consumption of 15-35W, where the other two CPUs have a total power consumption of 15-30W.It is expected that several technology brands such as ASUS, Lenovo and possibly Valve will use this AMD Ryzen Z2 processor series in their consoles and will be announced during the CES 2025 event.Currently, AMD says that this processor series will begin to be offered to PC console makers starting in the first quarter of this year.
