Valve Confirms Steam OS Coming To ASUS ROG Ally – May Come With Dual-Boot Feature
A few days ago we reported that Valve seems to have started introducing an update to their Steam OS operating system which seems to add support to the extra buttons present on the ASUS ROG Ally console.Through The Verge, Valve seems to have confirmed that they are indeed updating their Steam OS operating system for use on the ASUS console, which is said to be among the best-selling PC mobile consoles on the market right now.What is interesting is that this is not an official collaboration between the two companies, but may be seen as a start to test whether it is worthwhile for Valve to introduce the operating system to a wider market.This also does not mean that ASUS will start marketing the Steam OS operating system with their consoles. For ASUS, the collaboration with Microsoft is done because the Windows operating system is the software most used by gamers, and support from the company is important to ensure that their consoles work well.While it is not yet known when this Steam OS 3.6.9 update will be available for download, Valve has also said that it is possible that they will support dual-boot features for Steam OS and Windows 11 in future iterations of the operating system.They say that it is one of the important features they want to introduce, but for now they are still making sure that Steam OS can be moved smoothly when it is introduced for the ROG Ally in the future.
