KTM Will Introduce Motorcycles With ADAS System In 2025

KTM will introduce an improved ADAS system on their motorcycles next year. This Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS) system was developed by Bosch as a continuation of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system used on the previous KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE motorcycle.ARAS will improve the rider's safety by being able to brake safely when detecting the vehicle in front stopped with the help of radar. At the initial stage the motorcycle will brake on its own to reduce speed before stopping completely. Only motorcycles without a clutch can use this system to ensure that the engine does not stop when the motorcycle stops suddenly.Next, the previous ACC system was further improved to allow the rider to follow the vehicle in front with a safe distance and speed. The convoy mode given before is still maintained. When activated the motorcycle will follow the speed of the motorcycle in front at all times to maintain a safe distance at all times.ARAS also detects the presence of vehicles following behind again with the help of radar. When a detected vehicle is approaching, a warning will be given on the motor's LCD display. The motorcycle's emergency lights will flash so that the driver behind can see the motorcycle in front.ADAS systems have become commonplace in modern cars in Malaysia. The ARAS system is still new on motorcycles. If this system is successfully used by KTM, perhaps in the future its use will be more widespread. Malaysia has the highest fatal accident death rate in the world with the majority being motorcyclists. If people refuse to change their riding style, the ARAS system is the last line of defense against accidents.
