Huawei Computers Will No Longer Use Windows

After more than five years since Huawei was subjected to technology restrictions, they now use the HarmonyOS operating system on almost all of their products. With the change to a standalone operating system, they no longer have to worry about the obstacles that will be imposed in the future. Last week, Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei's consumer business, said that the company's computers will no longer use the Windows operating system.Instead it will be replaced with the HarmonyOS Next operating system. This is Huawei's universal operating system that is already used on smartphones, tablets, watches, TVs and smart screens. This makes the recently launched MateBook laptop the last to use Windows. At this point it is not yet known whether the use of HarmonyOS is only for Chinese market products. We have already seen when HarmonyOS was launched before, devices outside of China were still using EMUI. HarmonyOS Next which is the latest version no longer supports the installation of Android based applications.Huawei says as many as 100,000 apps and meta services are now supported by HarmonyOS Next. The amount is still small because App Gallery has almost 1 million applications based on HMS.
