Terraform Labs Founder Do Kwon Extradited to US
Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon has been extradited from Montenegro to the US to face crypto fraud charges. He was arrested by Montenegrin authorities last year after being on the run for six months. He was issued a red notice by Interpol for his involvement in the Luna and TerraUSD (UST) cryptocurrency scandals that cost investors more than $40 billion.After the collapse of this investment scheme, Do Kwon fled to Singapore. In order to bring him to justice, South Korean authorities have requested Interpol’s help. He was arrested along with another suspect after being caught using fake documents while trying to fly to Dubai.2022 has been a bad year for crypto investors with dozens of reported scams and the closure of major companies such as FTX and Three Arrow Capital. The value of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin plummeted and only recovered earlier this year before reaching an all-time high two weeks ago.
