The United States May Ban the Sale of TP-Link Routers

The United States is ready to target several brands originating from China, and ban their products from being sold in the western country. Recently, there were reports that the United States has opened an investigation paper involving TP-Link routers, and may ban their sale.It is said that the router may lead to a cybersecurity threat to the United States. Today, around 65% of the market in the United States uses TP-Link routers – due to telecommunications service providers offering the routers with subscriptions.Several reasons are being seen that lead to this ban, including due to cybersecurity problems. According to some analysis, it was found that there are hackers who use TP-Link routers as botnets, and use them in cyber attacks. In addition to the vulnerability problem, the authorities are also looking into whether TP-Link is trying to monopolize the market by selling them at a price lower than cost or vice versa. With this development, it is speculated that the sale of TP-Link routers may be banned as early as 2025 in the United States.
