With the latest update to GeForce Experience software that replaces it with NVIDIA App software, users can now get graphics card driver updates more easily, and many graphics card settings in games can be modified quickly and easily. However, recently there have been reports that the NVIDIA App application is causing a PC game issue where graphics performance and frame rates are seen as up to 15 percent lower than before the update to the application.Various posts on the internet can be seen about this issue, and several tests have been done using GeForce Experience software before the latest update and also with the NVIDIA App software installed. These tests do show a decrease in the number of FPS from 2-15 percent depending on the game and the graphics card used. The biggest issue seems to be shown in games that use the Unreal 5 graphics engine such as Black Myth: Wukong and The Talos Principles 2. Technology websites such as Tom’s Hardware and Digital Trends and yes, it is true that installing the NVIDIA App causes the performance drop. But what's interesting about this, according to Digital Trends, is that this performance drop isn't due to the NVIDIA App alone. According to their own testing, this performance issue is caused by the NVIDIA overlay. This feature allows users to access various features such as screenshots, screen recording, and more, and it seems to be what's causing the graphics performance issue. By turning this feature off in the NVIDIA App settings, they report that graphics performance returns to its previous figures. At this time, it's not known when NVIDIA will fix the overlay issue, but if you're also facing this issue, you might want to try it to see if it works for you.
