The process of app approval and new app updates on the App Store is taking up to a week, according to a Business Insider report. Previously, it took only 24-48 hours, and it is believed that this is all due to the influx of apps developed via vibecoding using artificial intelligence (AI).Apple still uses humans to approve apps before they can be offered on the App Store. With apps being developed quickly by AI, more and more apps need to be approved, and as a result, it takes longer. There is no sign that Apple will change the existing system and developers will have to be patient with longer waiting periods.According to Apple data, in the United States alone, new apps on the App Store increased 54.8% compared to the same month last year and 56% in December.
