WhatsApp Developing Paid Channel Subscriptions

WhatsApp is developing a paid channel subscription feature through an upcoming update. This feature allows channel creators to offer exclusive content to paid followers, and with this feature, channel creators also have the opportunity to generate income while maintaining free content for all followers.How does it work? According to WhatsApp, channel creators can set the subscription price through the channel information screen. Then, paying followers will get access to additional content that is separated by a special filter so that it is easy to distinguish from free content. In addition, the number of paid subscribers will be displayed publicly in the channel information so that everyone can see the level of popularity of a channel.However, these subscriptions are completely optional as users are free to decide whether they want to pay or just enjoy free content. In addition, this paid content is also subject to WhatsApp's terms of service which prohibits the sharing of any illegal, harmful or abusive material.The convenience here is that WhatsApp is now improving channels with a paid subscription system. However, the free experience is still maintained for all users. However, for now, the feature is still in the development phase and is not yet available for testing.
