Intel Appoints Two New Executives to Permanent Executive Roles

In February, we reported that Kevin O’Buckley, SVP and head of Intel Foundry, had left Intel for a new role at Qualcomm. Intel Foundry is now led by Naga Chandrasekaran, who was Intel’s Chief Technology Officer at the time, and now leads the Intel Foundry division entirely.Intel has recently appointed two new executives to the positions of General Manager of the Client Computing and Physical AI Group and CEO. The first position will be held by Alex Katouzian, who is a former Qualcomm executive who has been with the company for 25 years.Alex will be responsible not only for consumer computing devices, but also for physical AI systems such as robotics, autonomous machines and other AI devices. Previously at Qualcomm, Alex held the positions of Executive Vice President of Mobile, Computing and Extended Reality (XR).Following the acquisition of Intel Foundry, the position of Chief Technology Officer was left vacant, and for the past few months, it has been held by Pushkar Ranade, who will be responsible for advancing the company's technology strategy, leading special technology projects, and driving the development of critical new areas, including quantum computing, neuromorphic computing, photonics, and new materials.
