Microsoft Ends Xbox Copilot Before It Could Be Launched

The Xbox Copilot feature that can help players solve problems in games was shown for PC and Xbox last year. It is Microsoft's persistent effort to introduce various artificial intelligence (AI) Copilot features to their products. This morning, Xbox CEO, Asha Sharma announced that the development of Copilot for Xbox will be terminated immediately while the integration of Copilot in the Xbox application on smartphones will be discontinued.According to Sharma, this is because Copilot is not seen as "features that are not in line with the direction of Xbox". Since taking over as CEO a few months ago, Sharma has introduced several changes such as a cheaper Game Pass subscription, no longer including COD in Game Pass, ending the "This is an Xbox" campaign and bringing back Xbox Gaming with a new logo.Microsoft seems to want to refocus on gamers who are increasingly moving to consoles or other operating systems such as SteamOS. The launch of Steam Machine seems to have made Microsoft aware that they can no longer be complacent because Windows 11 is now causing more problems than it is making it easier for players.
