Microsoft Xbox One Finally Hacked for the First Time

The Microsoft Xbox One gaming console was launched in 2013, and it is one of the few video game consoles that has never been hacked to date.Recently, at the RE//verse 2026 engineering event last week, an individual named Markus ‘Doom’ Gaasedelen showed how he hacked the video game console using a voltage hack or ‘voltage hack’ called ‘Bliss’.He explained how this hack can be done, and it requires an understanding of how electrical energy and voltage work to bypass the security barriers on the console.Even more interesting, because this hack allows Markus to access data in the ROM (Read-Only Memory) section of the console’s processing chip, this hacking technique is difficult, if not impossible, for Microsoft to fix because it technically bypasses all the security systems that are built in just like that.In short, this hack allows the operating system and all the software and services of the console to be accessed without requiring any authentication from Microsoft. Similar to old Sony PlayStation game consoles, this hack can be loaded into a chip that allows users to bypass the built-in security system, and allows users to access games without having to go through the Microsoft authentication process.
