The Oppo Find N6 was launched today with its main feature being an improvement over last year’s Find N5. Last year I said the Find N5 was a five-star device, does that mean the Find N6 deserves six stars? Here’s the full review of the Oppo Find N6.SPECIFICATIONSOppo Find N6External Screen – 6.62″ OLED LTPO 120HzIn – 8.12″ OLED LTPO 120HzDolby VisionQualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor (3nm)2x Oryon V3 Phoenix L 4.6 GHz chips5x Oryon V3 Phoenix M 3.62 GHzAdreno 840 Graphics ChipRAM 16GB LPDDR5XInternal Storage 512 GB UFS 4.1Main Camera 200MP, f/1.8, OIS (Wide Angle)50MP, f/2.0 (Ultra Wide Angle)50MP, f/2.7, OIS (Telephoto)Hasselblad camerasExternal Selfie Camera – 20MP f/2.4Inside – 20MP f/2.46000 mAh batterySuperVOOC wired charging 80WWireless charging AirVOOC 50WNano SIM/Telephony/5GNFC YesAudio Jack NoWaterproof IP59Scanning System Side fingerprint scannerSelling Price RM 8699 (16/512GB)SCREENThe outer screen is now larger and wider at 6.62″ AMOLED LTPO 120Hz and Dolby Vision. On the Find N5 it is 6.6″. It still has the same ratio as a candybar screen which gives it a comparable usage experience to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Honor Magic V5. Therefore, throughout the review period I rarely felt the need to open the inner screen. This was only done when I wanted to watch YouTube, read my e-book and need to use two apps simultaneously. The inner screen is 8.12″ AMOLED LTPO 120Hz also with Dolby Vision which is comparable to last year's model. The effect of the screen folding on the Find N6 is not visible at all this year due to the use of Zero Feel Crease technology. It combines the second generation Flexion Hinge with 3D printing techniques and the new Auto Smoothing Flex Glass to solve the crease line issue.Auto Smoothing Flex Glass according to Oppo is Auto Smoothing Flex Glass is 300% more crease-resistant, 50% thicker and maintains its shape 100% better than the previous folding glass layer. After using the device for 3 days, I have yet to see any crease marks on the inner screen. The outer screen looks clearer under bright sunlight as the screen brightness can reach 3600 nits while the inner screen only has 1800 nits. Both also come with Oppo AI Pen stylus support. This is very useful for those looking for a device with stylus support as it is now becoming extinct. Both screens also have no issues displaying Dolby Vision content through the Apple TV and Netflix apps. Another thing I would like to praise is the haptic system which feels more natural.BIOMETRICSThe biometric system is in the form of a fingerprint scanner built into the power button on the right side and facial recognition. The side fingerprint scanner is fast and finally positioned more ergonomically with larger buttons. A face recognition system is included which is also fast even in relatively dark situations. In pitch-black situations, the face needs to be placed closer to the screen for the screen light to allow the camera to recognize the face.DESIGNThe body of this year's device is very thin, it is only slightly thicker than the USB-C charging port. Last year's model was already thin so there is nothing more to slice to make the body of this year's device even with Ozempic injected. This gives the device the advantage of feeling like a regular smartphone when closed and also not feeling that heavy when compared to a regular smartphone. The process of opening and closing the screen is still a little difficult because the two folding "doors" are too thin. As I said before, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold may be "fat" but its thickness provides a surface area for the fingers to open the device more easily. The round Cosmic Ring hump on the back is also lower so the device does not feel as heavy at the top. The model under review has a Blossom Orange back finish that is now a trend for 2026 phones. Oppo has given the device under review a carbon fiber-like frame to protect the exposed surfaces. The frame covers both doors and not just one like on the Magic V5.There are audio adjustment buttons, power (doubles as a fingerprint scanner) and Snap Key on the right side. There are no more drop-down buttons borrowed from OnePlus. Snap Key can be programmed to launch the camera, enter AI Mind Space, turn on the lights, launch the camera, record audio and more with it being set by the user. The thin body means that the Find N5 is now equipped with only a pair of stereo speakers and not three like the Find N3. The two speakers are not placed on the “left door” of the screen and they shoot to the side. One at the top of the left door and the other under the right door next to the USB-C port. This makes the audio output no longer symmetrical.Oppo, however, still includes an infrared emitter at the top. Finally, the device passes the IP58/59 waterproof standard which is an improvement from the previous IPX8.OPPO AI PENI need to touch a little on the AI Pen stylus that is supported this year because it is a stylus that has Bluetooth support. It is sold separately but if purchased, Oppo provides a unique back frame because it has a stylus storage space and also a charging dock. With Bluetooth support, the buttons on the side of the AI Pen can be used to control applications such as the camera. Oppo now offers a feature that was once exclusive to the Galaxy Note Ultra. Samsung itself has no longer supported Bluetooth on the S Pen for the past two years. The AI Pen has a physical pin that contacts the charging pin on the frame. The frame is powered by the Find N6's reverse wireless charging system. A creative solution to the "how to recharge the stylus" issue from Oppo.USAGE AND SOFTWAREThe ColorOS 16 operating system based on Android 16 is used, offering the same user experience as the previous Reno15. Only a few special additions for foldable devices are added. Oppo did not say how long the software support will be provided, but it is sure to be the same as the Find X9, which is 5 versions of Android and 6 years of security patches. There is support for adding virtual RAM up to 12GB, Taskbar, support for connecting applications between screens when opened, various AI features for productivity, Smart Island and Apple ecosystem support included on the Find N6.If you remember last year, the O+ Connect application allowed for sending images between ColorOS and iOS. It is back with this as a temporary solution because Android has confirmed that by the end of 2026, all Android devices will be able to use the AirDrop protocol. After this, all types of files can be sent to iOS using Quick Share and AirDrop to Android without the need for third-party applications. O+ connect also allows me to access a macOS computer directly from the Find N6 screen when needed. There is a Boundless View feature that allows three applications to be launched simultaneously as if on a 15″ screen. Unlike Samsung’s tri-window system, Boundless View allows the three applications to be launched in full screen size when needed and reduced when not needed.Three applications can also be arranged with two on top and one on the bottom in full screen mode. With Boundless View, the issue of the application display being narrow/small does not occur. Users can combine three favorite applications into Boundless View mode at any time and they will be saved in a special icon on the application front page. There is also a FlexForm Mode feature that divides the device into two screens when placed in an L-shaped position. In YouTube and Netflix for example, the upper screen will display video content and the lower screen displays the video control interface. In applications, the upper screen displays the viewfinder and the lower screen displays various camera controls. The Oppo Find N6 software will receive 5 Android version updates and 6 years of security patches.BENCHMARKSAs usual, I used three benchmarking apps to see how the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy performed. The scores recorded were then compared to phones with chips like the ones listed below.Xiaomi 17 – Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5Realme GT8 Pro – Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5iQOO 15 – Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5Honor Magic8 Pro – Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5Vivo X300 Pro – Dimensity 9500OnePlus 15 – Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5Oppo Find X9 Pro – Dimensity 9500Apple iPhone 17 Pro – A19 ProAnTuTu 3DScore DeviceOppo Find N5 3,080,123Xiaomi 17 3,530,586Realme GT8 Pro 3,066,488iQOO 15 3,726,305Honor Magic8 Pro 3,424,247Vivo X300 Pro 3,507,869OnePlus 15 3,720,096Oppo Find X9 Pro 3,472,342Apple iPhone 17 Pro 2,634,345Geekbench 6Single Core Multi Core DeviceOppo Find N5 3450 9393Xiaomi 17 3294 9416Realme GT8 Pro 3482 8153iQOO 15 3480 9789Honor Magic8 Pro 3587 9853Vivo X300 Pro 3507 10469OnePlus 15 3553 10484Oppo Find X9 Pro 3158 9298Apple iPhone 17 Pro 3560 88353DMark Wildlife ExtremeChip ScoreOppo Find N5 6020Xiaomi 17 5491Realme GT8 Pro 5461iQOO 15 6788Honor Magic8 Pro 7659Vivo X300 Pro 7075OnePlus 15 6741Oppo Find X9 Pro 6127Apple iPhone 17 Pro 5873The experience of using the device is very fast and smooth in line with the benchmark scores recorded above. The flagship device using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 does not disappoint in terms of performance running common applications or high-performance games. This is due to the use of 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.Games like COD Mobile, Wuthering Waves and Genshin Impact can all be played at high settings without any major issues. The device still gets a bit warm but I feel it is not to the point that it is uncomfortable to hold in the hand.CAMERAThe main camera consists of a 200MP f/1.8 wide-angle lens (OIS), a 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle, and a 50MP f/2.7 periscope telephoto (OIS). This is matched by two 20MP f/2.0 selfie cameras. The main camera supports the Hasselblad color system as well as the X-Pan mode that takes pictures at a wide angle. Sample images are as follows.Overall the image quality is satisfactory with it working quickly. The color reproduction is satisfactory. There are several built-in filters with different color profiles that simulate a film-like effect. So if the original algorithm is not appealing to you, there is a profile from Hasselblad. The X-Pan feature is also back for fans of cinematic-looking photos. In X-Pan there are also several color profiles to give different moods to the photos taken. Here are the photos taken at 1x, 2x, 10x, 30x and 60x zoom settings. The photos taken still have a satisfactory level of sharpness up to 30X only. At 60X the image starts to break up and at 100X it is completely unusable.BATTERYThe 6000 mAh battery supports 80W charging with a USB-C cable and 50W with the AirVOOC charger. The device can last a day consistently in normal use. The normal here is that the majority of use is on the external screen only. Because of the large external screen, I rarely felt the need to use the larger internal screen. The battery can be recharged in about 50 minutes. In heavier usage, SOT of up to 10-11 hours can be achieved consistently and in more casual usage the device can last all day. This battery performance is much better than the Z Fold7 and places it as the foldable screen device with the best battery life to date.IN THE BOXHere's what's included in the box.1x Oppo Find N6.1x USB-A to USB-C charging cable.1x SuperVOOC Charger1x SIM Pin.1x Frame set.CONCLUSIONThe Oppo Find N6 is a foldable screen device that improves on several features compared to last year. The first and most noticeable advantage is that there is no longer any line effect on the foldable screen. Oppo was the first to solve the issue that has plagued foldable screen devices since the first generation. The body is slightly thinner with better waterproofing levels. In addition, the location of the power button cum fingerprint scanner has been changed making it more ergonomic. The camera system has also been improved with a larger sensor size and the AI Pen also brings an interesting additional Bluetooth feature compared to a regular stylus. Another advantage of the Find N6 is that you can remotely access your macOS laptop directly from inside the device. The disadvantages are still there, namely the asymmetrical position of the audio grille. One at the bottom of the right door and the other at the top of the left screen door. When holding the device, one of the speakers will be covered by the hand. The device is offered in two color options, namely Stellar Titanium and Orange Blossom in Malaysia at a price of RM8699 (16/512GB) each.ProsVery smooth ColorOS 16 performance.Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is very powerful.Thinner design with the effect of the screen folding is no longer visible.Apple ecosystem integration.IP58/59 waterproof.AI Pen stylus support with Bluetooth.Long-lasting battery and fast charging.ConsThe body is a little thinner and harder to open. The speaker position is no longer symmetrical.
