Intel is reportedly looking for customers to use its 18A foundry to build its high-tech semiconductor chips, and it has been reported that one of those customers is NVIDIA.NVIDIA has been testing Intel’s foundry’s capabilities to produce semiconductor chips for the AI chipmaker, but according to a Reuters report, NVIDIA has yet to make a decision on whether it will use Intel for any of its products.Intel’s 18A foundry is currently used to produce its own processor chips, namely the Intel Core Ultra 300 “Panther Lake” and Intel Xeon “Clearwater Forest” chips, which are also set to launch in 2026.Intel is also looking for new customers to use its 18A foundry, but many expect that those customers are waiting for improvements to the process, including 18A-P and 18A-PT, before making any commitments. As you may know, NVIDIA currently uses TSMC to produce all of their consumer-grade graphics processing chips and AI data centers. Intel also has a partnership where they will combine their own processing chips with NVIDIA's upcoming GPUs, but NVIDIA is an Intel customer and these projects are two different things.
