Google Backs Down and Allows Sideloading of Android Apps

Last August, Google introduced new guidelines that require Android app developers to register and verify their identities. According to Google, this is to combat the issue of malicious and fraudulent app development for the safety of Android users. This announcement was opposed because it was seen as Google's attempt to prevent the installation of Android apps by sideloading.Due to the severe blow, Google has now relented and will allow sideloading of apps to continue for more experienced Android users who are willing to take the risk of installing unverified software.These app installation guidelines will go through several stages designed to inform them of the risks involved and ensure that permissions are not given carelessly, making them victims of fraud.Google is still in the process of taking initial feedback on the system that will be introduced with a final sharing to be given in a few months. Sideloading of apps is one of the features that makes many choose Android over iOS.Android's DNA is to give users choice. Without sideloading, many new apps cannot be used such as Antutu 3D and unofficial apps can also be tried before arriving on the Play Store.
