Planisphere Questions Mortality In New Single ‘Blackout’

Last year we introduced you to the genre-bending, hard-rocking Planisphere. Tapping into the freedom of fusion, seamlessly blending electronic sounds with heavier elements- the band have returned with their latest single ‘Blackout’. The beginning of the band’s next chapter and the first taste of their highly anticipated upcoming extended release Liminal Pt. II, the new single treads new ground. Lyrically inspired by the TV series The Last Of Us, frontman Lorcan Coates gives us the background of how it came to be: “I remember watching the Bill and Frank strawberry episode when it came out, and being really, really moved by how they portrayed Frank’s last days when he knew he was going to die. It got me thinking how I would feel if I knew I only had days left, or alternatively, that the whole world was about to end. How I might become hyper-aware of all the little things around me and savour everything with that heightened sense of finality that can only come after the acceptance.
