Off the back of announcing their first headline tour of Australia this September, NY old-school death metal revivalists Undeath have unveiled ‘Brandish The Blade’; the band’s first new material since 2022’s critically acclaimed, It’s Time… to Rise from the Grave. Unsurprisingly, these sonic butchers have once again got bloodshed on their minds, but it’s not exactly business as usual at the mortuary. Celebrated for their fresh take on the classic extremity of icons like Cannibal Corpse and Autopsy; Undeath have ushered in the modern era on ‘Brandish The Blade’. The production is sharper, the rhythms have a groovier feel, and meat-and-potatoes chugging has been supplanted by dexterous, melodic guitar work. Whether you’re a death metal purist, or a recent convert, there’s something for everyone in this gnarly anthem. The killer new track comes from the band’s newly announced third album More Insane, set for release on October 4th via Prosthetic Records. Get your pre-orders in at the link below for various vinyl variants and more. In the meantime, make sure you get your tickets to Undeath’s Australian run of shows, supported by local gore-merchants Gutless and Resin Tomb.
