R33 rust under rear seats

Hi Guys Pulled out the rear seats in search of what is causing Mould to grow inside the car and found some pretty bad rust under there. I’m going to grind it out and put some rust converter on it, but I want to know if this is common? I haven’t seen anything regarding rust in this location. Seems pretty bad to be honest. What’s your thoughts ?
