Supreme Court declines to block Trump's looming sentencing hearing

A divided Supreme Court has denied President-elect Donald Trump's request to block his looming sentencing hearing, scheduled for Friday in his New York hush-money case.Four conservative justices on the court said they would have granted Trump's emergency request to block his sentencing, USA Today reported: Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh.Prosecutors called it an "extraordinary" request," according to the report.ALSO READ: Trump intel advisor Devin Nunes still dismisses Russian election meddling as a 'hoax'The court's ruling means Trump will be a convicted felon when he returns to the Oval Office.Trump's sentencing had been delayed until after the election at his request. Judge Juan Merchan has said he will not face prison time, fines, or probation while he appeals.
