His daughter, TV writer Maggie Mull, announced his passing after a "long illness" on Instagram.

He died at home after a “valiant fight against a long illness”, his daughter said.

Mr. Mull, who was also an artist and a musician, had a long list of credits that included the sitcoms “Roseanne” and “Veep.”

His daughter confirmed the news on Saturday, describing her father as someone she loved “tremendously”.
