Speckled dace protections

WASHINGTON — The Santa Ana speckled dace, a minnow-sized fish native to California, should be listed as threatened, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says. Dams, water diversions, sprawl and competition from non-native fish have caused speckled dace to lose three-quarters of their habitat.
