Donald Trump spun recent news that a previously fired adviser would return to his campaign as proof of its thriving success and not, as critics have suggested, panic.Trump took to Truth Social Thursday ahead of his Bedminster golf course press conference to explain recent news that Corey Lewandowski would join his campaign team as a senior advisor. "The Enthusiasm is GREAT, and the Management Team, headed up by Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita, is THE BEST," wrote Trump. Lewandowski was fired from a pro-Trump super PAC in 2021 over claims he sexually harassed a campaign donor at a Las Vegas charity event, NBC reported at the time. Both Wiles and LaCivita have faced calls to resign from Trump's MAGA base which fears the pair could prove fatal to his campaign. Last week the hashtags #DumpLaCivita and #DumpWiles both trended on Truth Social.White supremacist Nick Fuentes predicted a "catastrophic loss" and argued Trump's campaign had been "hijacked." But Trump cast blame on Fox News, citing the conservative outlet's newly released poll that found him just one point ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election."We’re leading in almost all Polls, in some cases leading by A LOT, despite the fact that the Fake News is pulling out all stops for their Radical Left San Francisco Liberal, Kamala Harris," Trump wrote.Fox News' poll is on par with a CNBC poll released earlier this month found Trump leading nationally by two points, a Washington Post analysis that found Harris would be the favorite if the election was held today, and a New York Times-reported poll found her narrowing the gap in six key battleground states.Last month, Trump was polling 5 points ahead of President Joe Biden, who withdrew from the race and passed the baton to Harris after the Republican National Convention nominated the former president."These 82 days will go down as the Most Important in Campaign History, and November 5th will be the Most Important Day in the History of our Country," Trump wrote.
