'Mentally unwell': Trump ridiculed after raging at hush money judge over 'wrong ruling'

A keen-eyed political commentator spotted a crucial mistake in Donald Trump's spluttering rant against the judge in his criminal hush money trial Wednesday morning. Podcaster Allison Gill said she laughed out loud when she read Trump's response to Justice Juan Merchan as news spread that the clearly frustrated judge had just ruled for the third time that he would not recuse himself."Judge Merchan just ruled that I, the Republican candidate for President, and leading in the Polls, am still under a Gag Order CONCERNING VERY IMPORTANT THINGS WHICH MUST BE BROUGHT TO LIGHT," Trump wrote at 10 a.m. ET. "I AM NOT ALLOWED TO ANSWER REPORTERS QUESTIONS."Gill, host of the podcast "Mueller, She Wrote," pointed out on X the mistake she spotted . "This isn’t what judge Merchan ruled on," Gill wrote. "The gag order ruling came down two weeks ago from a totally different court’s five judge panel. Today, Merchan ruled that he wouldn’t recuse himself (for a third time)."Donald is mentally unwell."Trump told followers Wednesday that Merchan had just ruled on a gag order that prevents him from speaking publicly against individual prosecutors and court staff. Trump's New York criminal docket was not made open to the public but the court's Public Information department maintains webpage with filings cleared for public view. "Counsel has merely repeated arguments that have already been denied by this and higher courts," Merchan wrote. "Defense Counsel's reliance, and apparent citation to his own prior affirmation, rife with inaccuracies and unsubstantiated claims, is unavailing."Trump responded by accusing Merchan of voter manipulation. "Suppression and manipulation of the vote," Trump wrote. "This is the real Fascist 'stuff,' the old Soviet Union! So much to say, and I’m not allowed to say it. Must get U.S. Supreme Court involved.
