Indicted fake Trump elector under fire after using homophobic slur against DNC member

Former Michigan Republican Party co-chair Meshawn Maddock was called out over the weekend for using a homophobic slur to describe an openly gay political opponent in her state. Maddock, who last year pleaded not guilty to accusations related to posing as fake elector for Trump, was put on the spot by a reporter in January after she attacked his reporting as "fake news." On Thursday, she took to social media to attack fellow Michigan political figure Jason Morgan, who serves as Democratic Party Vice Chair in the state. Morgan is also a member of the Democratic National Committee, according to his bio on his social media account. Morgan responded to the comment Friday, saying, "Former [Michigan Republican Party] Chair and advisor to Trump’s 2024 campaign, just called me a f--." "As a proud gay man who loves his husband, these hateful taunts don’t undermine my Pride, but to countless LGBTQ young people across the USA, hateful rhetoric can lead to depression and suicide," Morgan wrote on X. He then added, "On behalf of those LGBTQ Kids, I have one message for bullies like Meshawn & Donald Trump: #WereNotGoingBack to an America where hate and division win." "The choice is clear: We Choose Freedom from Hate. We choose [Vice President Kamala Harris], for the people," he said. "Let's stand up to bullies! Contribute to keep me and other LGBTQ leaders in office, no matter how triggered Meshawn gets." Morgan concluded by taunting Maddock over her legal troubles, writing, "Btw, [Maddock], aren't you due back in court (or jail) for trying to steal an election?"
