Arlington Funeral Home Official 'Violently Shoved' by Trump Campaign Staffer

The US Army says an Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) officer was “violently shoved” by a Donald Trump campaign staffer as he tried to ensure compliance with rules prohibiting political activity on the grounds. “This incident is deeply unfortunate, and it is also unfortunate that an ANC employee and his professionalism were inappropriately attacked,” a US Army spokesman said in a written statement on Thursday (8/29). Trump's campaign denied the allegations and said the former president had been given permission to bring “campaign media” into Sector 60 of the cemetery by the Gold Star family. “The fact is that a private photographer was allowed on the premises, and for whatever reason, an unidentified person, was clearly having a mental episode; and decided to block members of President Trump’s team during a very solemn ceremony,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said earlier this week. Another Trump aide, Chris LaCivita, issued a written statement saying, “For a despicable individual to physically prevent President Trump’s team from accompanying him to this solemn event is disgraceful and should not represent a sacred place like Arlington National Cemetery.
