Letter to the editor: New-candidate smell will wear off

In "Harris, the 'president of joy?' There's no joy in Dem-ville" (web, Aug. 23), Cheryl Chumley doesn't have to go far out on a limb to question the effectiveness and durability of a political messaging campaign that calls on voters not only to suspend their disbelief, but to discount their own experiences over the past 3 1/2 excruciating years.
