House Republican claims immigrants eating park ducks

Just days after a school shooting in his district, a Georgia Republican congressman was focused on another issue Monday as he sent out a warning about immigrants eating ducks in parks. Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) made the claim in a post on X on Monday. "They're in the park. Grabbing up ducks. By the neck. And eatin 'em," he wrote. Collins was likely referring to a recent City Commission meeting in Springfield, Ohio, where a resident made the unfounded assertion the Haitian immigrants were eating ducks and pets. On Monday, the Springfield Police Division told the Springfield News-Sun that there had been no reports of abducted pets. Collins' statement comes just days after four people were killed in his district during a shooting at Apalachee High School.
